What Is AmeriCorps VISTA?
AmeriCorps VISTA is a national service program focused on four core objectives: capacity building, sustainability, community engagement, and fighting poverty. Volunteers-In-Service-To-America (VISTA) are individuals who commit to serve full-time for one year at a nonprofit organization or local government agency to support low-income communities by building the capacity to engage the community, generate resources, and create sustainable programs for six priority areas: education, healthy futures, disaster relief, economic development, veterans affairs, and the environment. The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation partners with the Corporation for National and Community Service to engage AmeriCorps VISTA members to increase academic achievement for low-income students and students of color in Saint Paul.
Who Are Our Members?

Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation AmeriCorps VISTA members are inspiring and innovative individuals who are dedicated to helping Saint Paul eliminate its academic achievement gap. Our members serve at a variety of sites including the Foundation office, schools and local nonprofits.
