Our mission: rally investments of time and resources to support academic success in the Saint Paul Public Schools.

History and Goals

The Saint Paul Public Schools Foundation was launched in 1995 with volunteers raising money to provide small grants to educators and programs within the Saint Paul school district.

In 2005, the district re-convened community leaders to develop strategies for how the Foundation could have a larger impact.  A new board was established and a consultant hired to work with the board to determine how the Foundation could support academic achievement for all children in Saint Paul Public Schools. This new board determined that it would focus on four key areas:

Champion public education

Facilitate partnerships

Fund innovative projects

Celebrate success of students, schools, and the school district

Mike Anderson was hired as the Foundation's first executive director in November 2006.  Since then, the board has been expanded, organizational infrastructure has been developed, and initial programs have been launched.
